How To Join Us
We're so excited you're interested in joining us!
To answer your question,
you just show up!

Simple as that. Well there might be a few more steps for official membership, but it all starts by just showing up. If you're intersted in officially joining you can talk with Fr. Patrick or call the office.
Join us for worship
Sundays are perfect times to experience a service with us and introduce yourself. After our 10am Sunday worship service, the congregation collectively moves to Field Hall for Coffee Hour, a time to catch up with old friends, chat with new friends, and enjoy an assortment of treats and beverages. We encourage you to grab something to eat and let us know you're new to St. John's, even if you're just visiting for the day. There's no pressure at all to talk to us but we would genuinely love the opportunity to welcome you.
Join us for coffee
If you want to introduce yourself before joining us for worship, you can meet our incredible Rector, Fr. Patrick, at the Starbucks in Barrington on Wednesdays between 11-12:30 in the afternoon for Coffee Connection, his social office hours. This is a great way to get introduced to the St. John's community before meeting our whole congregation for worship (we know that can feel overwhelming!).
Join us online
If you're unable to be with us in person or if the idea of meeting with us gives you social anxiety, we've got you covered. We share recordings of our Sunday services on Youtube so you can worship with us privately if that brings you peace. To introduce yourself without meeting us in person, write us a message on our Contact Us page letting us know you're interested in joining St. John's and we'll happily welcome you digitally.
Many of our in person parish activites are offered online as well, you can join us on Zoom by clicking here.
Join us at an event
You can also head over to our Calendar Page and see if there's an upcoming event that you'd be comfortable attending. We hold softball nights, happy hours, lobster roll Fridays, fireside evening prayers (complete with s'mores, of course!), concerts, lectures, ice cream socials, you name it so we're hopefully there's an event that inspires you to join in.
