St. John’s Pageant

Pageant Save the Date

Our annual St. John’s pageant will take place on Sunday, January 6th at 5:30.  No, that’s not a typo!  While it may seem odd, Epiphany is an appropriate time for this celebration of Jesus’ birth and the subsequent arrival of the Magi.  Epiphany pageants are quite traditional in Europe and Central America, and are a growing trend among North American churches.  It’s also a great way to remind ourselves that the Christmas season doesn’t end on December 25th, as well as an opportunity to re-hear the story once the holiday crush is over. That said, we need some help: Children in pre-K through grade 5 to be characters; older youth to be readers, greeters, and ushers; parents and teachers to help with costumes.  Sign-up sheets for all roles will be posted in the church school wing.  We will have a dress rehearsal at 4:00 pm on the 6th (leaders and youth participants, please arrive at 3:30).  There will be a special reception following the service, including a hot chocolate bar and cookies.
