Worship is central to who we are at St. John's. It is our hope that the Word of God spoken here will fill your
heart, mind, and soul with a sense of how relevant the Gospel is to your life...and how your life is relevant to the
Gospel. It is also our hope that the Eucharist, or Holy Communion, will renew your spirit...and that the
combination of these things will cause you to go back into the world as a child of God to do the work of God.
Because the Eucharist happens at God's table, all God's people are welcome to receive Holy Communion here.
Many young families typically attend our 10:00 am Sunday service. We at St. John's consider this a great
blessing, and a promise for our future. Some adults struggle with the noise and distractions that young children
can sometimes cause, but we must remember they are members of the Body of Christ--the Church--and therefore should be among the worshipping people. They may squirm in the pew and make noise at the wrong
time on occasion simply because they are children; but they also sing, pray and give with us. Our children are
learning the power of Christian ritual, and what better place to do that than alongside their parents?
But children also need ritual that is on their level, which is why we offer a children's chapel during our 10:00 am
service. Children ages 3-10 are welcome to "process" behind the children's cross to their own chapel where
prayers are said in their language, songs are sung with interactive instruments, and a story-style sermon is told which relates to the one their parents are hearing at the very same time.
