This year, our annual St. John’s pageant took place on Sunday, January 7th at 5:30. No, that’s not a typo! While it may seem odd, Epiphany is an appropriate time for this celebration of Jesus’ birth and the subsequent arrival of the Magi. Epiphany pageants are quite traditional in Europe and Central America, and are a growing trend among North American churches. It’s also a great way to remind ourselves that the Christmas season doesn’t end on December 25th, as well as an opportunity to re-hear the story once the holiday crush is over. There was also a special reception following the service, including a hot chocolate bar and a Kings’ Cake.
