The St. John’s chapter of Episcopal Church Women has enjoyed a wonderfully long and illustrious history. Today it is one of the only remaining E.C.W. chapters in the entire diocese of Rhode Island. The St. John’s E.C.W. chapter receives all of its funding from Encore, and then distributes nearly $28,000 to various outreach organizations, as well as some in-reach for the business operations of St. John’s. The women of the St. John’s chapter of E.C.W. are hoping new young women will see the importance of this organization and ensure it’s future here by joining.

“THE OTHER SIDE OF RAYMOND” was a most interesting demonstration by our organist and choirmaster as he spun wool from a sheep into the beautiful threads that produced the colorful and intricately designed prayer shawls he displayed. Judging from the many questions generated from Raymond’s program and the reluctance to adjourn for lunch, he may be asked for a return engagement. This seems to be the consensus of opinion from the group attending. And, by the way, we had two gentlemen attend our meeting, which leads me to again announce—Everyone is invited to all ECW meetings.
