It is with great pleasure that the Wardens and Vestry announce the election of The Reverend
Robert K. Marshall as the 15th Rector of St. John's Church. Robert began his ministry in Barrington on September 13. His election is the culmination of an extensive search process on
the part of the Search Committee.Robert had been the Associate Rector at St. John's Church, Lynchburg, VA, a large parish in
the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia, a responsibility which he had for the past four years. In addition to participating in the liturgical life of the parish and pastoral care of members, Robert
has had particular responsibility for outreach and ministry to young families. He has worked extensively in
developing children's liturgies and in leading youth mission trips to El Salvador, Belize, Mexico and Navajo land.
He holds the degree of Master of Divinity from the Virginia Theological Seminary.
Prior to his ordination to the priesthood he was a TV anchor in North Carolina and Georgia.
Robert is 41 years old, single, and a native of North Carolina. His interests are varied, and include hiking,
camping, fly-fishing, cycling, golf, as well as song-writing and participation in a pop/rock band.
We look forward with excitement to this new era in the life of St. John's Church.
